Ahn Jae Hyun Talks About New Romance After 5 Years Divorce: “I Want to Have 10 Sons Like SHINEE’s Key”
Ahn Jae Hyun, who divorced Goo Hye Sun in 2020, made a playful remark during the January 10th broadcast of MBC’s “I Live Alone,” expressing admiration for SHINee’s Key’s filial piety.
The episode featured Key celebrating his mother’s retirement ceremony. Returning to his hometown in Daegu, Key shared, “Today is my mother’s last day at work,” and added, “I prepared a retirement ceremony to congratulate her.” For the occasion, Key had custom-made a doll and plaque resembling his mother. He explained, “I wanted to leave a special gift that she would appreciate, something meaningful like a trophy.”
Key’s mother worked as a nurse for 36 years and retired as the head of nursing. Key expressed his respect, saying, “My mother dedicated so many years of service.”
Reflecting on his childhood, Key prepared a special dish. “I looked up the soy sauce braised recipe my grandmother often made when I was in elementary school,” he shared, “and it reminded me of going to school while my mother went to work.” He added, “I thought my parents would love this dish.”
On the day of the ceremony, Key accompanied his mother on her last commute to the hospital. He said, “My father and I always used to accompany her, and this time I wanted to be there for her last journey.” Key’s mother was moved and happily said, “It was worth raising a son like him.”
In addition to the ceremony, Key also practiced meaningful giving by donating 50 million won to a children’s hospital. “I wanted to do something meaningful in honor of my mother’s retirement,” he said. “I was surprised when they prepared a ceremony at the donation center.”
Watching the broadcast, Jeon Hyun Moo joked, “I don’t know when my parents’ last workday will be,” and added, “In my family, we all fend for ourselves.” Ki An 84 reminisced about his own mother, saying, “My mother retired from teaching at a kindergarten, but one day I just realized she had retired.” Ahn Jae Hyun humorously added, “If I had a son like Key, I would want to have 10 of them.”
